"tethering" (whatever)

My galaxy S6 lets me take a picture and using my windows explorer, see the file and copy it to my PC.

NOW I'm back in the early-years with my a32, when tethering was something everyone said "whaaat??" to.

Windows can't even see my phone, but that might be paranoia, except my s6 is still there.

"You need yada, and blah, and sign up for..."

Yeah I'm not impressed yet.

regardless... I wonder if hooking up a usb-drive is possible.

The computer likes the drive, even if it snubs its nose at the phone. But the already formatted drive needs a format done by the phone.

Go to bed, wake up. Suddenly everything works exactly as it should (kind of):

Booting up, the computer said it did not recognize the USB device.

Uninstalling and reinstalling my monitor-hub (which might have nothing to do with it) suddenly made windows recognize and download drivers for the phone (several drivers, several versions)

"Samsung Mobile USB yada"

The drivers needed are buried deep within a bad neighborhood on the internet, so having them downloaded automatically (eventually) was nice.

But this blog entry is useless without the reason why the phone was unrecognized in the first place, and I do not have an answer. Lots of websites totally guess.

One more total guess to add to the pile of internet guesses: the phone had a couple hours to update itself, seek counseling, become more PC-Friendly.
Or, a Samsung account is needed; I've been refusing to sign up to Samsung.

https://www.techtimes.com/articles/261359/20210611/hackers-found-way-spy-samsung-users-tampering-pre-installed-apps.htm

A Microsoft + Google account, a gmail account, all these accounts don't need another account (Do They?) but yeah, a Samsung account probably would have solved a few things.

For the next 30 seconds I will try to improve upon this, what my old phone did beautifully, automatically.
(Plus I might want to window-shop for a case)

There are much stuffier and more sophisticated ways of correcting those stripes, but Frankly I don't care right now. Changing my monitor to 30Hz helped.

SD Card hell:

Those models cannot be found on Samsung's compatibility-page, except the A32.
A typo could cost zillions (this is very tedious, maddening, and etc)

With the knowledge that different countries have different model-features,
Please see the page
A02s-type, Azaire (that's a new one) UHS-1 U3??? Almost forgot, "Class 10"
I'd show up to class in the wrong room on the wrong day, so, fucket.

SD is NOT compatible with SDHC and NOT compatible with SDXC, so saith sandisk.
Samsung in their wisdom, only says it can be a "Micro sd" card (without any qualifying letters)

Some guy says

Ah, geez, wtf
Once you've mastered the acronyms, and the brands, Then you find fakes and letters you must inscribe into your memory, and colors.
Snobs buy samsung or sandisk and get cheated (unless they're really shills, then nevermind)

Pay tons directly for "U1" or take a chance on "u3" and hope the "u3" has better reliability (or why would I buy it, 4k of my footie?)
heif, heic, abc123(AHHHHHHHH!!!)

T
Up to 1TB (1TB is probably more than most cheapo computers)
But you'd need "reddit" to describe all the ins and outs of buying one type over another,
I bought some years ago, one quickly burned up and died, but it was a low-cost model.
One worked forever (then it died too)
They're unreliable (In my experience) so you wouldn't want
the only copy of your will and the family-album on it.
First, instill a need for 4k and propane 4k accessories, then sell them (in a clubby, acronym-ridden way,)
Making sure the shills scattered on Twitter, facebook and reddit have all the latest brochures and paraphernalia.

And (O forget it)
A reminder to myself, please scale down the damn photos I take.
No, they'd rather you use their incredibly unnecessary size and either convert to an apple religion or buy more memory. (I'm not finding any "640x480" jpeg-settings)
The 1080p/2k/4k(?) capabilities can have cobwebs for all I care.
(The jungle of settings is sort of a nightmare I've been afraid to go into, until right this second.)
The SIZE is important, Full-Micro-nano.
I have a nano sim with an accompanying hole for Micro.
And every nine years, a hankering to drag out an adapter to hook it up to a PC, but I hope I resist the urge next time (use wifi, use bluetooth, use anything, but keep your grubby greasy fingers off the dinky chip)

I seem to recall that the phone never uses whatever memory you buy, except for songs and porn.
Apps stick to whatever the phone has built-in.
But maybe times have changed (I doubt it)
I haven't checked out the photo department of any drug store for a really long time...
I'm beginning to wonder if I should (or would they be way overpriced as per usual, nevermind)

With Razzle, and DAZZLE! (Hey buddy, can I bum a cigarette?)
("U3" but is it "UHSII" ? No? Phht (lol)

Some guy writes that the "Pro" (UHS1) is twice as fast as the non-pro.
I kind of think that would be OK, and it's too small for a computer-backup anyway, so. . .
Assuming it works at all, I will be getting the slowest 4k-capable version (at least it's 4k)
Plus, UHSII has more pins, which I'm totally guessing wouldn't fit into a UHS1 (but I've totally glossed over all that, so far)

Bring on dancing girls and Peel the Grapes!!
https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1009257/
(First Bill, whenever it is, is double + extra gratuities)
so (totally guessing) 50 is 100 + 10 +5 +10
and on "autopay" that really means something.
O WAIT! Did We say NOVEMBER?! WE Meant "OCTOBER"

No grapes, cancel the girls quick. I'll be lucky to find butts on the sidewalk.
Did we say "Netflix"?? We meant "Apple TV"

There's a line in chemistry, in electronics, below which stuff just sits.
In electronics it is sometimes called the knee voltage, but don't quote me.
In usb-Phone-Cables there's a very specific line too, but I don't know what it is.
My very long cable isn't fit to communicate with anything, but it's fine for a controller or a charger.
My medium-sized cable transmits and receives just great.
"Wires is wires", you'd think, especially if you remember long phone or modem cords.
No, it's a fancy new world where you get crystal clarity or total blackness.
