I'm no hospital Administrator....The particular hospital I attend gives out way too small doses of Insulin.
So They can measure all they want, it'll never go low enough.
No one gets hypoglycemia, no one gets nothing, and the nurse is sure to scold you for your high reading.
(where was I) Could they dump the stern lecture and the endless measuring, and just profile you based upon your weight?
Actually they have a formula:
I don't really know what "Basal to bolus" is. I'll look, soon. |
Re-reading....could "Basal" just mean the reading on the meter?
Waaaaiiiit...There's "Plasma" readings and "Basal" readings..... "Basal" sounds like the first thing before breakfast, after surviving a no-food night. I don't know about "Plasma" |
??????????????
Seriously, wtf??
A starving man wakes and is measured, his basal is known and his BOLUS should be...(uh) 2/3 Basal?
nonono, you'd kill the patient.
Let's review
Let's review
Basal????
Bolus=shot
Plasma (vs basal)??? (Which one is the meter-reading?)
wtf can we conclude? 1 unit/kg/day/3 (the /3 means, three shots a day)
There goes that pesky death side-effect...
86kg 1 unit *86=Death, but "Around 1" could mean, 0.7 or 0.6. I don't have exact figures, but yeah.
The anecdotal part follows:
Since my hospital stay (Where they did stuff to my body) the maximum bolus (prudent-dose)
is 20 units, 3x daily, IF I ate candy all day etc and my sugar was in the high 300's.
I got curious about "Titration," one of their favorite clubby keywords.
It's as if, anything Over 20 is dangerous, and Under 20 is safe (a little wimpy but safe)
15 is the lower end of effective but safe.
So five units make that much of a difference?
And is there really a "Titration" going on, or is that just a fancy word...
Matt something:something Wide is the way to low blood sugar |
Fucket, heaven must be full of republicans and congressmen.
The lake of Sulfur is a tourist spot, look it up!
Thank Jim Jordan, kids.
*ANyway*, my original point was, it's way too easy to mess up your sugar, not so easy to fix.
Sinners (iPhone-idolaters prolly) Posing near the sulfur
