temporary POV

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/albertsons-terminates-25-billion-merger-133915536.html, I'm struck by all the opinions (over 600.) And I disagree with most of them, which seem to say if bigger companies are happier, prices will fall.
prices rose 125%.
Prices Falling 0.3% from now on will be hailed as a victory (and other juicy adjectives)

Prices never fall, it makes them happiest to have more profits.
But I didn't start writing this to have an opinion, I only wondered at the blame they'll have for higher prices.
Covid, Obama, Biden, Trump, the weather.
Prices will certainly rise, it's the reason that'll change.
Blame Amazon, Blame Walmart.
Blame regulation.
The future: 3.5 years of blaming Biden for everything.
Prices will rise because it's in their best interest.

Browsing...Browsing...Apple (The manufacturing saintliness) will move some manufacturing from China to India. (still browsing)

Our store had a sale on beef this morning, very-lean beef was cheaper than lean beef.
My receipt proudly announces that the store saved me $5.00, which means, they'd really like the price to be twice what I paid! And this is their reasoning:
Their benevolent munificence lowered the price $5.

My stomach is a curmudgeon and got pissed anyway, but it was worth the riot and the administration-change.
And if a person didn't hold on tenaciously to beliefs/loyalty,
and bought on the whim of store-management instead,
some stuff could actually be cheaper, but it's an illusion.
Prices will doubtless be even higher in a week.

I have no opinion on why stuff is very very (very) high up on store shelves, and since tall people will spout,
"*I* have no problem,"
I doubt this'll change soon. Plastic bottles lower down, GLASS bottles on top,
it's a rule.
The food is stratified; the upper-crust items are always on top, and the lower cost stuff is below them.

A thought too vague to browse is, branded food.
Like maybe the very expensive bread from some guitar player.
or this olive oil

You seriously need to hug a chicken or maybe sell Apple(tm) apples, but most of the profits (for a while) would go towards marketing.
As long as they're not woke
