Slow train

Why really isn't important, they want your data and will charge you to hold onto it.

The advertisement masking as a windows update wants my phone number, no doubt for security.

Sync all my devices, yada-whatever (do they all get ransomwared, do they all get subpoenaed?)

I was mad at an insurance rep for cancelling my insurance, and she just talked slower so I'd agree that cancelling the insurance and restarting it was a best-practice of theirs (talking slowly)

So no, you won't understand how pissed I am writing this, no, you won't understand why I don't want 60 minutes to rehash an article from 2018 about guns,

No, you'll just talk slower back to me.

Office 365, is ripe for subpoenas, ripe for ransomware (it's prolly a biggie target)

I'll delete this T o m o r r o w,  T o m o r r o w,  is, a n o t h e r, Day!

TLDR EA Games has many cookies to feed you (stuff down your gullible gullet, whatever)

https://www.vice.com/en/article/7kvkqb/how-ea-games-was-hacked-slack

I don't know if it's clear, or should I talk slower...
https://www.migaloo-submarines.com/ an odd submersible boat for the very wealthy (we're beyond "rich") has enough cookies to make an army happy.
It's also (not the site, their boat) the subject of many webpages that are aggressive advertisement hawkers "click here for the next pic" etc)
Since god-knows-when, every time you click on ANY webpage (this here one included, I'm told) someone gets paid a small amount because you took a cookie, they can prove it, pay them.
I seriously need aNother entry wondering about pages forcing you to click something or leave.
WHAT are you clicking? Haven't you wondered? Some are brainless traps "Click here if you're not a bot" as if they weren't bots trying to trap you into bypassing a security trap (you must grant permission by clicking on something in the page, for them to do some unknown, prolly nefarious misdeed, hmm)

Cookies are the internet's way of gossiping about you.
They're like as if you're at your neighborhood doctor, (savior or hack, whatever)
And to remember who you are, old doc has cookies stored about who you are and what you want.
Ignore all that gossip the nurses do, they don't count.
The idly curious perusing your chart only want your number to call to tell you, the doc is on vacation.
To stretch the analogy (way) further, the doc might want more drug supplies based upon his patients' needs, and someone might be running a study on some of the patients he treats.
Plus (bottom line) he wants to get paid for his periodic trips to vegas, after looking at moles and abscesses all month.
Now, (ahem) a box of cookies (files) falls off a delivery truck after he has enough money to transfer his practice to something-estate-hills.
Or someone steals them, or (o geez, get a clue)
"Thorndyke has High anxiety!!" (Gossip from a movie (o nevermind)

My sweater has a hidden meaning that I can only guess at.
People saw me coming from across the street, cheered, waved and shouted something I couldn't hear.
I was lucky my "Cookie" (My AA cookie, my local-shelter cookie, my church cookie??) from a dead relative was a good one. I didn't steal my cookie but I so do not deserve it.

Changing the subject (because I can, it's My blog)

The uselessest trivia in the world is the hardest to learn.
No one in the universe would care, but bombasts would smile in their graves that you repeated what they bombasted all those boring years ago:

Now imagine the USB-League, or the League of Wi-Fi Justicars, doing the same thing, but with stuff that they didn't invent but can certainly improve upon

Spell check is calling me out on "Justicar"

It's bombasting (also misspelled) that "Justiciar", a bombast from the middle ages, is more correct.
Geez, listen to yourselves talk.

Covid bandaids

I forgot, and it's too important to bury inside a blog.

They make a Band-Aid 100 times more useful than the crap they sell in those white cans for kids' booboos.

But I do not know what they're called, (couldn't be "Band-Aid")

Spell check corrects me but it's a generic bandaid that wonderWoman would be proud of.

So I'm off to see the wizard to ask what industrial-strength, hospital-quality band aids are called, and how to get some.

These *might* be them, I should have asked. (damn)
"4 in" no, too damn big.

Unless you're stabbed.

Maybe they hold a patent; anyway I don't trust them.
Seek out ye bandages in yon 99-cent store,
Or go on a quest for the grail of bandages, the one on my arm.

This next bit is too unreadable.

They're trying to get you to be hopeful that even though covid variants are better, stronger, faster, and kill more antibodies,
The other defenses in your body (whatever "T-Cells" are) still work well.

I don't feel as bad as yesterday, still not 100%.
The first vaccine inserted special forces, who hung around until the biggie badass vaccine arrived, and there's a conflict (not a war) but it's still noticeable.
The first vaccine must be fighting the second one, but it's all war games (right?)
If this had been an actual disease I'd have died.
This is depressing, hence the articles about variants (you might be ok!)
If antibodies have no chance, maybe it's a good idea to research T-Cells and how to bulk them up.

The referral procedure in my area goes like this:
A doctor clicks on a link powered by Google (whoever) and / or thumbs through a directory.
The criteria for the referral might be, "is close by" ("someone I've never heard of")

Level of trust is lacking

Seriously, I could search for a doctor powered by Google and (maybe) come up with a better place, a place that bounces me back to a testing facility (because that's all it would be, at this point, me not dying or bleeding out)
The testing facility would give me an unreadable CD and a boilerplate diagnosis (I should floss more)
And $100 or so copays later, the doctor would tell me to eat more greens.

end (bank-robber II)

arena-style concrete seating, brown and rusting, arranged around a very dirty charcoal -gray lake.
At the center of the lake was a raised platform for destructive experiments.

And this outdoor arena is where the bored stereotypical teens gathered, to do the unthinkable, end the world for themselves and the surrounding area.

But this was no explosive-death, after the almost imperceptible detonation, it was more a slow death of degrees. Feeling nothing at first, they laughed and joked about life and the end of it.

Well, that was my "get up and pee" dream, what was yours??

What's it called when you lie to keep whoever you're lying to, calm??
"I just got a mysterious package, I wonder what it is?"
It's nothing. (Call the bomb squad)

It's nothing (call 911)

I have this thermometer. It usually says my temperature is 96.9 to 97.5, like I had a cold or something, which was prolly the reason I was checking it in the first place.

Anyway, *today* it's 98.8, which, for this thermometer, is high.

I can already hear the bombastic opinionated lady in my head saying that's normal.
Fucket, I have a slight fever based upon my head, not the thermometer (o you wouldn't understand (*click*)
CDC really stuffy bigwigs (Why don't they give a dizziness lecture at the time of the vaccine??)
The hospital is getting so many supplies they can't put them anywhere, the hallway looks warehousey.
I want my lottery (but seriously, $1500 would have been fine!!)

Warehousey

Homily follows, don't snore:
https://www.cp24.com/news/the-vaccine-hangover-experts-weigh-in-on-why-some-people-have-side-effects-1.5406932 , (O-Crap, it's been 24 hours, still feel terrible)
I know what you're thinking, manly men hide their symptoms, get wounded in battle but soldier on.
Well this is my blog, not my employer or my Commander.

My head is saying I'm sick, And the internet says it's normal, up to a certain time limit (Which I may have already passed)
Diabetes makes it worse, ok.
I'm not actually sick, right? Only vaccinated (right?)
Oshit.
So, I'm googling, finding sales-propaganda to get the vaccine, especially if you're diabetic (or black Latino or have COPD)
But they don't give a whole lot of information out on side-effects of the vaccine.
The two-part vaccine part-one wasn't anything at all.
The second part hit me like a weird flu (no nausea, not just yet)
It's more like being, *carsick* without any throwing up.
I'd keep looking, but why?
Couched in the pleasant articles are terms like "24-36 hours".
I'll write some more tomorrow.

------
Video games are supposed to kill time, but I feel like sleep+TV is a great timekiller too...uhm, I feel like that's going downhill, but it's only til the covid-hangover goes away

freaking "ergo"

I nearly wrote a blog about Joe Manchin and then realized, none of you know who he is.
OK subject-change:

 vitamins

Train of thought:

They can do blood tests now to a perfectly working person, to be able to tell if they're anemic, or eat too much candy, they can tell tons of stuff...they just don't *fix* anything, not until you're having an operation and a big red "alert" sign goes on.

You basically have to almost die, and they'll apply the patch, or administer the chemical.

But anyway, "Vitamins" (and Iron)

they can tell if you're missing tons.

why "Obsolete?" 50k units and it's Obsolete??
NOW you tell me.

I'm supposed to take it, starting whenever they get off their decorated white-robed butt to fill it (is it rare? Refrigerated? Just how obsolete is it???)

I had more, I swear...well anyway it's a scary new vitamin for me, obsolete for you.

https://www.bing.com/search?PC=U523&q=hypoparathyroidism&FORM=ANCMS9

What I know:

If they give you really powerful thingies like phosphorus, you'll crap on the floor.

But they seem to think a calcium-phosphorous balance is important, not really noticing WHY you're imbalanced, until it's way too late.

But they make their money either way "You need a stent...no wait, you need a bypass (hello, yacht!!)"

Phosphorous isn't the chemical I'm thinking of (maybe it was "Potassium"??) maybe that's the floor crapper. hmm.

Anyway at *some* point in an old person's life, things start going off-balance, and bananas and Metamucil won't help (Personally, I think all that stuff *would* have helped a 35-year-old, but everyone thinks they're indestructible until 50.)

Commercial? follows:

https://www.menshealth.com/nutrition/a19560631/i-took-metamucil-every-day-for-two-weeks-and-here-is-what-happened/

When crap gets stuck (wipe-wipe-wipe etc), it's uhm, (hmm) something to think about. Well maybe if I were 35 and stuff still worked well.

Eat shit stuff that makes a difference now, before your body is too fucked up to care what the hell you eat.

Really really old movie-stars, richer than god ones, sustain themselves on vodka so it's (ya know, I've been thinking about starting a brandy drinking habit,
or a "VSOP" habit, whatever that is. (I'm sure I'll find out, no snarky letters)
The dairy council, (eggs cheese and milk), the walnut council, the avocado council, and above all the EVOO council, welcome Brandy to the club.

Mission Impossible (sort of) HCPCS

( TBA)
Mission: find a modern up-to-date chair that climbs hills.
Rules: it must be used in the patient's POS and anything else is fringe benefits
so...
A biggie battery,
able to climb steep hills,
Safety on a driveway on a hill,
navigating a bus
*None* of these meet Govt. regs.
You can't take what they give you and upgrade.
So it behooves a careful consumer to see what's out there.
It would also help to temporarily gain 200 lbs., but failing that, the choices are very limited (to little old ladies navigating a park, not grizzled guys trudging through snow)
Plus, bugs attack this keyboard on a regular basis; it must have an irresistible odor for bugs.
Bottom line, ignore typos.
K0800
POV vs PWC
POV=dinky scooter,
PWC Barcalounger (try not to laugh)
When descending from a sidewalk to a lumpy street in the winter, clearance is a real good thing to have.
Barcaloungers have trouble with this, and I don't know about scooters.
Three-wheeled ones (we're talking really dinky) might imperil your life;
four ('nuther biggie bug) (BRB)
Are terrible on buses, so I've been told.
(You need to do a 180 in a very narrow aisle possibly occupied by a fat woman with a shopping cart)
If the aisle is empty damn near anything will turn eventually.
Until you need to leave...
OK 3-wheel it is.
K0800-PWC three wheeler.
Speed is no biggie, who gives a rat's ass, but longevity is a must.
Avoid anything with "travel" in the name.
Plusssss...
(This gets tricky)
Don't lift weights, at all ever, before the qualifying trials.
It might help to bulk up (seriously).
*wear* the weights, don't lift them
Unfortunately I'd need to bulk up too much and a chair would be the last thing I'd need, more like a bypass and a respirator....so ok abandon all hope of getting anything but dinky.
Scooters were some senator's idea to save a buck, I swear.
You're looking at ladies' butts, while *I* drool over sexier chairs....I don't know.
Mid wheel, front-wheel, rear-wheel, it's all on the fucking test.
You're supposed to know.
Whut? (duh...uhm)

Bus, hill....
hill vs bus?
uh,

The bull they sling about "front wheel" is exaggerated, in my opinion...
it's, uhm, horrible, but the others don't seem better.
Don't live on a hill, don't go anywhere,
stay home (the end)
You're not getting it, sitting on a driveway on a hill (leaning left and down)
A narrow base is the pathway to hell.

There's a commercial for "HWD" on their page, all tech sucks except their "HWD" chair, on hills.

What do I know...
FWD is sucky going up a hill, and can be disastrous going down hills.
RWD is impossibly hard uphill on a manual chair unless you go backwards (in reverse)
But a powered (with charged batteries, not dying) RWD might be nice.
And...
The original batteries of any dinky chair, die a lot.
Buy aftermarket. Bribe the salesman  (I'm not sure)

Pie-in-sky chairs are for the firemen, first-responders, nurses and their ilk.

Classless society (rofl)

Group one Hoi polloi

Group 2,3 (? TBA)

Group 4 (Mr. President)

group one, a scooter, or a RWD chair. But things being what they are, chairs manufactured in China are prolly scarce.

"RWD" = Luxury item? TBD (I don't know yet)

one-way trips to bathrooms

The "ext" version is 20ah

But if this thing pops a wheelie (forward or back) on a hill, uhm...
Well let's imagine it, I'm in the mood for horror...
Going *down* if the back wheels lift up, the fronts have no brakes.
going up, no steering.
Weeping, gnashing teeth.
There are (most probably) two or so models to choose from dealers, They just don't tell you which models, unless you happen to know a dealer.
I don't.

If,
in order to sell more models,
a factory made a group-4 and labeled it group one,
 that would be nice.
Wheels that don't leave the ground as much, batteries that don't die as much,  for fat people who aren't blimps.
But to put it in language you'll understand,
McDonald's cheese burger (plain)
vs
Moby-Jack from Jack in the box.
Which one has a deal that includes Fries?
There's a disconnect between what people buy and what people use.
People buying this stuff, buy it usually for a disabled parent.
The parent could prolly, ya know, fucking type, but no.
We're left with the daughter's impression.

If you're a 98-year-old 98-pound parent, please write more reviews.
Eat something.

I can't write what I want here, it isn't PC

Reminder: Idea for an entry, Train of thought

Women look lots better in shiny clothes, something to do with curves?

Some women look fat in shiny clothes, prolly why matte-black-pants were invented.

Shiny waist, shiny shoulders, shiny legs,

(pretty-pretty shiny-shiny reference)

Bangles to enhance the shiny.

unattractive-shiny=feet.

Form-fitting shiny skirts on the thin.

Men should be allowed fur collars to go with their bulky jackets....but it's a faux pas, men don't wear fur.

"Sheepskin"?

"Marlboro man"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

A depressing dream about robbing a bank very quietly, no weapons, very little loot (a quarter-inch-thick bundle of new hundreds.)

It must have been hot, the dream waited to end.

no getaway car, and the bank didn't want to cause a scene, so they pretended not to do much besides seriously arm some guards who pretended to watch birds.

Bank managers milling about, pretending to talk about the weather.

The robber tried to count the bills from within his pants pocket, hoping maybe it was enough to buy a small used car.

Most depressing dream ever.

Microsoft-Windows Ransomware protection:

If there's any *possible* way to fuck it up, they sure as hell will.

Testing in advance (TBA)

??? Decrepit apps need not apply (aka are unworthy)?

It figures Sims won't work (now what)

Too snooty to hire trainees, need a *&^%$ degree* to do decent backups, and yet...
They're stymied by teen hackers (or biggie bad guys, you choose)
you *could* just restore to before the ransomware attack (*I* couldn't, not having a degree but...)
---------------

The o-so-politically-correct fucking headline front page.....
You (degree'd ) Turkees

----------------------
No intro, (ahem) just a prediction, kind of.
I know enough not to make predictions about anything, this is a blog...but it's hot and muggy in this room.
Memories come back to me but they're from July's past, and it's only June.
So....
uhm,
Saying "Summer will be hot" would be real silly.
But humidity is coming.

I think I've heard about "Summer rain", it's either a romantic song or a douche commercial.
"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xa9vWVEYojg" is a forgettable song I either totally forgot, or never heard before.

I wonder if muggy rain is in my future?

---------
Fluffy news filler: An interview with some very blonde Olympian.
She regrets the Olympics protest but doesn't want to think about it.
Just looking at her for 20 seconds and her two sentences, made me seriously look into this protest.
10000 volunteers quit (keyword=volunteers)
Would *you* die for her?
She doesn't want to think about it.
But, no links.
Who was the blonde, what's up with the protest (am I misinformed, was it cancelled already) *why* were they interviewing her, was there some subtext I'm unaware of.
Bah
an idea for an entry that will never be an entry.
Lebron won't go.

Disclaimer (part of the interstitial set)

So who rates the decent driver? (ahem) Who deserves the critical-duty 100%-working device-driver, (or is the device so mickey-mouse it wouldn't be allowed in a mission critical facility? (I saw this sentence and edited it, and now I feel slightly sheepish)
This next thing is a train of thought for the three-day-old rotting train of thought:
Network cards for hospitals (I doubt I'd find one advertised for a nuclear facility)

(tba)
The really wack-shit you guys go through just to be trendy...I've got a 10GBe card (not sure about the "e" but it looks nice)
Not SFP (apparently).(re-edit):(Folderolish way of saying, "Fiber"/"Optical Fiber" vs "Ethernet"?
So nevermind, I'll stick with Mickey Mouse.

A n y w a y.....

Rivet networks or maybe Intel or maybe "Realtek" makes my network-chip

Don't piss me off
(Totally unrelated picture that was relevant yesterday)

(I don't use network cards, though I paid for one)
They all like the name "Killer" which is an adjective (like Sick or dope or phat or wack)
But
They've abandoned all hope for my 2.5g network adapter. Apparently it isn't worth updating since 2015.
Which is fine, considering politics since then.
I don't know.
That's sick! Dope. (yay) (It's a good thing)

Ax2+bx+c except on Tuesdays and leap-year fridays

I  could buy a cruise-ship with the eco paraphernalia I've purchased.
The rumor is that the Rich pay less for electricity, and I can believe that.
The richer, the more tax-breaks.
I've got so much sim money I stuck it in a temple.
But I still don't understand taxes, they change daily, around noon.
Too much eco-stuff is (a French word meaning gauche) solecism and cacology (lol) and too little and they penalize me tons.
I wanted to kill the generators (buuut noooooooooooo) they require fuel and careful management, they're worse than Gardening!!)
The whole subject is so boring that there are only two mods in the world.
I want a mod that is as small as a lightbulb that emits 2.5 terawatts hourly.

If this was complicated playing, it's way more complicated *writing* about.
Real-world solar panels store energy during the day, and release it at night, and enough solar panels should make you rich. (Generally speaking.)
Sims solar panels don't know how to store electricity; You're richer than God on sunny days and deep in debt at night.
The problem becomes, having too many panels, which is fine during the day but a real drain at night.
You'd have to be some math wizard to know how many are just enough. 23 solar panels at night draw enough power to keep 9 windmills busy. Two generators are off ("idling" doesn't sound right.)
Calm wind, perfect weather, but I will edit this if it rains or gets too cold, whatever.
Plus they change the rules slightly every month or so, tweaking taxes, tweaking power.
I'm afraid to use toilets at home, I must go to the gym to use their facilities (They are exempt from any bills)
I think some conservative-wag must have thought up most of the rules, some real asshole out to convince you of the futility of green-power, but that's just guessing.
(I mean, it *could* have just been well-meaning incompetence)

Headlines you could click on

Weight loss drug approved!!
(click the headline to read the weight loss drug wegovy)
Click *that* headline to read
it's really just semaglutide, a diabetes med.
So what started out looking like an infomercial on Google's front page turns out to be a higher dose of an existing drug.
It's nice, though, that news is so slow, weight-loss makes headlines.

I kind of doubt reporters hung around the lobby of the FDA waiting for that announcement;
it's a press-release (I don't know jack about press releases but I'm pretty sure they are advertisements masked as news)

The GOP Bible dictates that Biden should look bad until the second-coming of Trump or his son...
Anyway the other eye-catching headline is that
vaccines don't usually do jack for the immuno-compromised.
That makes sense if it's true.
A vaccine is like a wanted-poster for bad-guy germs.
But if the sheriff is dead, nobody reads the posters, the bad guys come and shoot up the town,

If you know you're immunocompromised you'd prolly be on special meds and your vulnerability to a huge variety of big-bad-guy germs would be well known by your medical professionals.
Nancy the nurse and twitter probably wouldn't know that though, prolly shouldn't have told you to go to disney world or the congo (I'm just saying)

ROTD

roger benitez "say hello to my little friend"
Would make a great headline and it's almost true.
Bah.

"Candygram for Mongo"

Before I have to go ranting "Say hello to the bad guy" because you're all shocked, appalled, outraged,

The AR15 is like a swiss army knife.
The guy in the second video didn't need a knife (or an AR15)
But the defenseless lady could have used one.
Hey that's YOUR rocky logic, not Mine, you've stooped to new lows.
(end of train)

15% tax on corporations operating internationally (vs 0% vs 21%)
hearken back to Gargantuan companies incorporated in "Delaware" (a random long train that's related but sounds like I'm drifting off like some old-guy (what?! OH!)
https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/05/g-7-nations-reach-historic-deal-on-global-tax-reform.html
You gotta understand, these not for profit corps lost BILLLLions and may never make a profit again (OK, 9.8% *maybe* but that's pushing it)
After they pay the CEO's salary, there's nothing left!!
(Won't you please save the world and send $19.95 (sixty three cents a day) to help these poor companies??
Think of the elephants.

Dusty tumbleweed blows by station after train-of-thought is long gone.
(They prolly thought people wouldn't notice, what with the plague and all. I wonder if he was going to apply for govt. relief next?)
(and the article says he had cohorts, minions. What of them, "conspiracy to commit"?)
And what of the zilllllions of business-type people who were tons better (the ones in Delaware, eg)
