You can't discuss apocrypha

People have tried, I was just on Reddit (Quora?) Where the Bombast deflects as well as any fencing partner.
WHY is it apocrypha, Who says?

It's relevant because of the recent scrap of paper turning out to be the Gospel of Thomas, and a book (I just found this out) called the book of Enoch.
Enoch was old, but he wasn't that old. 365 years, compared to Methuselah's 900++.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bible/comments/vi3utq/why_is_the_book_of_enoch_not_in_the_bible/

You could prolly argue that their math was rocky, or when people say "Richer than God" or "Older than God" they don't mean it, but these guys are dead serious and take their Bibles (and Apocrypha's) literally.
If you're of a mind, you can follow the discussion until it fades away to nothing....
But the bottom line is, stuff is "Apocrypha" because someone said it was, someone with God's Imprimatur (using different words)

It's like asking (today) what constitutes a christmas tree, it's obvious to all of us it's a pine tree, but waaay back when,

 who decided? The Pine-tree-council??

Yeahbutt yew cannot trust wikipedia, written by satan's helpers.
Pastor so-and-so says Yada blah.
(I really hate math)

The thrust of the train of this thought is a sermon about a guy named "Enoch." (and Ted Faro, Walter Londra, Eric, and the rest of the assholes in Zenith.)

Enoch (according to some or at least one) never actually died, he just "Walked with God"
When someone else says "That's just an expression" like "He passed"
or "They passed"
Remember that these guys believe that certain translations are the very literal word of God.

BIOS settings for Bluetooth (Bluetooths, blueteeth)

 Suddenly having two Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapters,
I haven't worked all the intricacies out.

Qualcomm-Bluetooth refuses to work with Intel there glaring at it.
INTEL(Wi-Fi) won't work at all if you turn off the "Bluetooth" option for it in BIOS.

The solution, maybe, is forget BIOS and use windows-device-manager to disable certain features:
Intel has a really nice 160MHz Wifi, but their Bluetooth is a little dated.
Qualcomm has chosen to split all of their WIFI's into tiny groups,
very confusing,
but they have better Bluetooth (Newer, anyway.)

BOTH Bluetooth's (so, "Blueteeth" but Spellchecker is incensed)
REVERSE the channels, pointing straight to a feature in Windows that I have not found, yet.
If you're willing to install yet another program and edit that program's parameters...But the solution-guy blames my headphones, not windows.
Since Bluetooth (for me) is just a fancy-assed toy, it's unimportant.
There are no special balance etc controls...
That "Audio enhancements" choice is a dropdown menu with two choices:
"off" and "default"

Beeeeeesides, reversing the channels on all outputs would be a bad idea.
Better to just wear the already uncomfortable phones backwards, and add yet another item (fancy-ass headphones) to a shopping list.
You prolly have no problems....I'm going now.
But it helps to organize thoughts.

First semi-organized thought....The adapter multiplexor option, it's to aggregate adapters (right?) and I always turn it off.
But with the Qualcomm, with it's single actual NIC and three VIRTUAL NICS,
shouldn't I be using that feature?
To, you know, get "160MHz" or whatever?
You'd think their driver would do that for you or instead of the multiplexor, but I thought I'd try it anyway.
Whut?? O, whatever, nvm

One is missing, I swear

"WiFi 13" is supposed to be the go-to wifi adapter but I think it's having a hissy-fit since I disabled its Bluetooth to get Qualcomm to run.
And yes I've thought about boxing up the Qualcomm and sticking it in a drawer, but Intel (the Diva) doesn't exactly have a great track record on this system.
"There can be only One" yada blah, whatever (beyotch)

The day the music died (and ramblings)

Back, farther than I can remember, some recording artists were killed in a plane crash.
link

Umpteen years later a guy wrote a very preachy repetitive song about it (I think that's what it was about)

"The levy was dry," WTF is a levy?

And after he sang the same words forever, the song got all slow.

(.)
Another day, another time, a rich asshole who could make life miserable for a lot of people, wanted to know who the vocalist was on random Beatles songs.

OK I failed his fucking test ("Lennon?") ("Mccartney?")
and it stuck with me in my memory, like shoe-shit.

I recently listened to a copy of "Penny Lane" and realized that the double-tracked voice (whatever) didn't sound like either Beatle and it was impossible to know on a lot of songs they credited to either Lennon or Mccartney. I'm totally pissed that an enjoyable experience turned into an in-fucking-quisition.
That said, I like "Penny Lane" a lot, whoever sang it. The accompaniment to the song (not that I was really listening) included an orchestra.
Changing to This artwork is damn near impossible...
I just usurped the name from a jpg it insisted on using.
Photo-credit

Songs I liked had no names and I didn't know why they were written.
I played catch-up most of my adult life on music.
I learned about songs and orchestral pieces years after they fell out of fashion.
I hate most of the music you liked so much (new wave / punk / heavy metal / R&B-Rap, Jazz) and now that I have a blog, I can say that with impunity.

Music, like vehicles and clothing and colors, have a style and a history.

(Fuck history, fuck styles)
Insert here, a grungy 60's total Butt hanging around Costco and making fun of customers.
No, not George-Harrison / Jesus Christ models from the current century.
Not Manson (Charles nor Marilyn) Ya know whut, NVM, I tried and gave up.
Wire-rim glasses="I'm a preachy asshole"

whut?

People saying unpronounceable names and name-dropping celebrities don't enhance the enjoyability of a song although I'm sure it makes them popular at parties.

Speaking of parties, do you think recreational drugs enhanced their music or messed it up? "Their" being people who started off one way and changed or went insane (for whatever reason) Britney, Michael, etc.

I remember the preachy-asshole side of the 60's, the after effects.
60's were pretty fucked up, history-wise.
Nice music though.
That pendulum you keep talking about, the one swinging right-to-left and right again, seems stuck, more preachy people being assholes than ever.
"(Fill-in-this-blank)" is bad for you!
But this officially has turned into a rant...Apologies.

Not sure what the obsession is with "DIV" in this here editor, but a pleasant thing happened on today's science show for little kids.
They tried to drill into you the concept,
"Conservation of Angular Momentum" which of course I completely forgot, so I'm writing it down.
Be fun at parties, remember this phrase, was the implication.
Basically, it has to do with math and a spinning top defying gravity while spinning, and according to the Internet it's related to conservation of Linear momentum.
Which (I am making this part up) is related to laws about "inertia," I think.
Oh, you want a *picture*, ok.
Well you already know what a spinning top looks like, so:

I am soo jealous

Sad puppy commercials try to convey urgency, like if YOU don't donate quickly, that sad-puppy in slow-mo on your screen might freeze.

I'm totally guessing they don't include fees for speeches, and money for commercial production. And the book deals (yes, I'll go look)
PLEASE help these people be more richer than god, or they'll film more sad puppies in slo-mo.

I'm totally done, but .....
You know all those free-range animals they aren't supposed to lock up, what happens to them when really bad weather (really bad) hits?
All those poor chickens braving the wind and the rain, incredible heat, killer snow, no wonder they get the flu (just saying)

Edit: Vacuums

EDit II: Me googling vacuum cleaners makes the half-wit AI programs think I need a battery-powered Fan (those big ones for drying rugs?)
If you see those ads too, nevermind.
After all, it *could* just be macho gift ideas for Fathers' Day.

After all the crap I wrote on Routers and WiFi, I suddenly remembered my original wish to buy a vacuum.
https://orphanrocks.blogspot.com/2024/03/hard-times.html

OK I'm going over it in my head: No HEPA, no fru-fru attachments, just some big-ass can with a motor in it.
These days, $49 sounds laughable for an appliance but I'll look anyway.

See, now THIS is why I never read "Best of" articles.
NYC snobs
The post saying they're "Naturally awful" has been suppressed sublimated (It's gone?)

If MY purchase lasts 365-days, I'll be happy.

OK nvm, I'm looking, don't wait up.

Buy One of these for *Mother's* day, I dare ya.

Tons of stuff could happen between now and a week from now.
Bad stuff. TMI (wrong/missing item, empty/crushed/returned)
I'm supposed to be hopeful, uh...

After this was written an ad arrived, one of those endless ones riding the shit-tide,

"Incredible offer," They live on a different planet, or I've been profiled wrongly.

If you lived in a country where everything was prized as being the best anywhere, because of where it is, what would it be???
RTG in, say, Italy or southern France?

A rich american woman who tossed off her homes (split level Ranches) in the US was in Italy with her servants (literally) and bought the above, which she didn't like but others did.
The "Plast" company wants you to know that theirs is best.
OK maybe "Italy" was a bad choice.
Dubai, where everyone is rich (I'm told) has a model with no name that goes for $650 US and looks exactly like an "Oreck".
This next picture has nothing to do with Vacuums; she's either out to make a buck or an actress, IDK. It just seemed to me to be the epitome of an expensive appliance-buyer, based on the picture and the fact that she knows where "Mallorca" is (I always thought it was in Italy)

I don't imagine rocks and graffiti are a problem for her, and robberies don't ever happen (or is it "Burglaries")
Not that I'm asking but would you trade MS for a nice house like that and a real nice Vacuum cleaner, and enough money to visit / live in Mallorca??

Windows like that don't wash themselves, and those dogs look furry; Throw in a cook and two servants (to do windows and vacuum with the RTG appliance)

What makes a good RTG vacuum??
Lotsa chrome, titanium and steel, a Febreze vaporizer, and it has to whisper.
If you borrow one, the guy you borrowed it from will be extremely pissed that you didn't vacuum the dust from the vacuum, detailing it so it looked show-room pretty, and go on as if you murdered his kid.

I'm prolly biased against upper-crust vacuums.
I'd prolly buy the first one being sold door-to-door, on a payment plan.

("RTG"=Richer-than-God)

Reddit = SEBO, Reddit is not the people to ask.
Magazines?
Damn near anyone you ask has a bias.

Let me totally guess (OK?) that countries in the EU have vacuums handed down from their forefathers, brands you never heard of, and the newer ones are plastic and look suspiciously similar to american Brands.

But if you want one that looks pretty, has specs good enough for NASA, look no further!
At last, a Vacuum cleaner for the ages!
And at such a reasonable price, lower than $2000
For vacuuming gunpowder off your desk (and so forth)

O. OK maybe not gunpowder

Nilfisk makes more upper-crust models, if you truly ARE richer than U-no-Who

Koblenz sounds like a nice name, rejected (see amazon review) by the snooty and upper crust.
it's so cute.
It works great, say the few and the proud.
Tiny, yes but *I* like it too

I guessed at my own answer (See above,) if you have a quality vacuum you inherited it or bought it many years ago.

If you still own a gray bullet-shaped vacuum on chrome skis, congratulations but they've moved on:

Minimalist future
(Made in Switzerland)

I think they sell electric brooms at walmart for $40 but this one above is from Switzerland and had to fly over, so it costs $500 more than $40.
I still like the Koblenz or NilFisk

wifi bots from hell

Can we agree drones are real and a type of robot?
Could I possibly say that flying machines like the ones in my game could possibly go on search and destroy missions,

and the wives and girlfriends of the searched and destroyed will become deranged and attack your bot maid of the future?
Screaming something about blasphemy they'll shoot your robot ai-gadget.
Malicious property damage, your lawyer will assert, but she'll get off, being a faith based trump supporter.

OK maybe I'm reading way too much into my game.

Slaves of the future, and (long after we're all dead) civil rights for robots.

(That alarm going off is a "bot" telling me my sugar is way too low, or the connection is broken, "Please stand by")

The really bad wifi signal, in a perfect world of the future, would be sought out by your friendly drone to relay it back so's you could watch (I don't know) a tv show in hi-def on Bots.
But in the REAL world, gangs in territories the bot-drone flew over would shoot it down, not to mention police and rednecks with rifles on slow days.

(Yeah, I'm not seeing a bright bot future)

The bot-checker in the store has been programmed to be extra paranoid about theft

("Theftage" Nyah, spellchecker bot)

and constantly nags about placing the item correctly and then tattling on you because you didn't do it exactly right.
After you're done and you paid for everything, it'll nag you some more about removing all the items, every few seconds.
No, bots totally suck, and that's no fantasy.

foot note 2: questions about Mesh

I am totally confused about mesh routers, beeeeecause, regular routers can do the same thing, can't they?
You point your close-by router to another router which acts as a "server" for your network and is also connected to the internet....so what's with "Mesh"???

Say a person buys a "Mesh" router because it looks affordable all by its lonesome.

OK

THEN what? will it be lonely and missing features you really want?

https://www.google.com/search?q=difference+between+router+and+%22mesh+router%22&oq=difference+between+router+and+%22mesh+router%22

Or is it more of a money sales trick, buy 10 and save $5.
(Only you don't Need 10, you only need one)

Buy two, get one free (so buy three?)

BOGO vitamins you forget to take anyway, and the vitamins slowly rot past their expiration date, but the store is real happy.

Then there's the bombastic Lingo: "Backhaul."

You tie a cable to both routers, Or, you dedicate one band of a router to the other router,
WTF has "Backhaul" got to do with it?
Union guys transferring cargo from one truck to another truck.

Fucket, buy a damn switch, It's cheaper. (hmm)
What am I missing, ?

The terminology excapes me...Plus I want an "AP" (I *think*) not another router, one that has the latest and greatest wifi with a cord up its butt for my venerable and highly respected router.

The AP would share that general-population LAN, but allow wireless clients to jump in. I think that's right....except, doing it that way, you'd have to research LAN-security or AP security, hmm

2024 router profitability forecast

Uncertainty as to just wtf wifi 7 is,

The election,
No real reason to choose the lastest,
resentment (from me) about the carrot-stick doling out of 6GHz
799.99 you GOT to be kidding.
But in every forum the 3-story 2 acre house and the guy with 24 expensive devices, is shilling.
From his basement, from his third-story Pantry, he rules his domain.
I think maybe the big push isn't here yet, Xmas 2024 will have newer carrots on sticks.
I (for example) would need a new phone, an 8K TV, and 6 imaginary kids
And an ISP faster than the speed of light, no caps.
Our fastest ISP does one-gig, *I* have one gig (read the older entries) but cannot use it. 8K, huh?

No-shit, Blu-ray=1080p?
So where do (This is turning into a facts-of-life question)
8k movies come from??
"Well, a movie is born, many years ago, and enhanced, so people will pay more to watch"

I don't know if my old eyes are failing me but....
*some* Reruns from the fifties and sixties seem to have more of a "3D" look lately.
They've enhanced B+W to look more lifelike, especially TV-series.
This is quite clearly impossible (Isn't it?)

footnote, wifi 6e (6ghz)

The lastest android 15 beta adds a grayed out line that basically says my country or region does not support 6ghz.
So I changed the region (to "south Korea") and now it blocks 5ghz too.
It only allows 2.4ghz.
Not nice to fool the phone company (I guess)
But
If I kept picking regions faster than my nose, would it eventually open up or just keep getting worse, forever.....
It must have been a permanent thing because it no longer asks me about frequencies at all (nothing).
I just downloaded a wifi analyzer that can see 6ghz. But the phone might be blocking 6ghz access; I would not really know.
----------------------------------------------------------------
An "Incentivized" review for a typical Wi-Fi router
is so full of it ya wonder why for it's "Incentivized,"
did the store manager want to sell a few?
WHY in god's green earth would you shell out big bucks for "WiFi 7"
and NOT get 6GHz??
Because, what is wifi 7 anyway, a f'ing price point to hang trendy items off of?
Wait, Whut?!

"6e", I'm convinced, is wifi 7 without the trendy f'ing name attached.
consider:

That this waif of a router has 6ghz and
is less than half what wifi 7 costs
(the one above it with "wifi 7" in the moniker.)
Alas, hmm, it dies quickly. Meh, you can't have it all.
Selling this shit must be a freaking nightmare, but
I'll totally *imagine* the trainees and ex-addicts making the bottom-end crap
(soldering and resoldering) might have something to do with the results
"It's Great!! " "It died"
Or what would you blame it on, heat?
The Cat?
I need to shut up now, before my "Acer Predator" monitor takes offense.

After a 5-minutes ago update
(Yew Turkeys)
That was as a client to the phone, which is suddenly a Mennonite.
Reverifying "Hotspot" from my PC (Don't wait up:)
Did I wash my hands/
Say my prayers at night/
Reverify (reinstall, pay the man)?

The windows structure installed a lower-down driver and now it allows hotspots,
A preliminary report that I don't know was adopted, says:
6ghz Wifi can operate at very low power, indoors or out, "14dbm", as long as it's not part of a "fixed outdoor system" (like a cell tower???)
And (this part is real murky (mmmurrr^%%$)
can prioritize certain "6ghz" frequencies.
In other words (bottom line) 6ghz is heavily restricted, just like 5ghz.
Old ladies with receivers could still call the police to have your ass arrested.
Cellphone companies (say the people writing this draft) are mightily pissed off that 2.4GHz interferes with their towers.
The FCC turned a deaf ear to that (in their report.)
Yeahbutt...is this a for-real thing or just words in a report long forgotten??
San francisco (everybody)
And Texas (Apple, because they're different/better)
ran two hundred tests (so, 400?) proving that VLP devices didn't affect existing Microwave installations.
(They did a lot of "Can you hear me now?" tests...)
Cisco has a lot plainer (but much more restrictive) summary.

eg, No battery-powered wifi transmitters. Whuut???
"Standard power" vs low Power (I think)

Both of the above links spent tons of time and typists' fingers explaining the exact unreadable details.
I'm thinking that Lawyers for companies haven't finished reading,
or
They're waiting for Trump to get elected.
Nothing else makes much sense.

I'd like to draw your attention to "Hotspots are not allowed" just above.

DOC-397315A1.pdf

They did tests, Overseen (in many instances) by AT&T.
The specific tests had to prove many things too bombastic to list, but apparently "Radio Astronomy" was one of the sacred cows.
EPRI (Energy Power Research Institute) was another overseer, according to the cryptic report I'm listing here.

OK I am still reading but Drafts, proposals and tests are all I've found so far.
You can thank AT&T, kids, for many of the tests and restrictions
 ("Thanks, AT&T")
In short, (lol) private citizens had little or nothing to do with wifi 7, it's all a bunch of really BIG companies.

In the same (unreadable) report, "C3Spectra" wants approval to make wifi happen for ISP's, so it's officially a business, not just Todd and his sister with a fancy-ass router.

But I have not found the final decree from their highnesses and the nobles feeding them info.
I'm sure it exists, somewhere.
It was "Ratified" as any reddit bombast will tell you, but what does that mean????
Which devices are worthy, which states, which cities??
What are the f'ing rules and why won't most devices work at 6GHz?

An excerpt from one of the lastest reports in February

6ghz, wpa3 personal,
They're all there, present, not voting.
There is no menu to select "wpa3" in "hotspot"
and the very top where it says "Hosted network supported NO"
Kind of seals the kiss of death

My logic problem (so far): everyone says that the newfangled 6ghz requires WPA3 but windows has no way of choosing wpa3 and only chooses wpa/wpa2, which consigns it to the outer darkness of 5ghz (6ghz is not something you can choose anyway, on my beta windows)
So despite all their boring advice, you cannot choose the options they say you must have.
"any port in a storm" seems to be the way WiFi was originally designed.
You pick a fucking network, get on and use their service.
But what if you're picky, discerning, "upper crust"?
6ghz, wpa3?
No soup for you.

What's better than flipping a light-switch?
Having the internet do it for you:
(I'm googling Google blocking 6ghz,
Seems to think standard-power must check in with an overweening authority once in a while, but VLP devices are exempt from that Tyranny, and anyway good luck finding a AFC authority in your area, hmm.
But Cisco goes on about 160mhz (not 320mhz) making me think Cisco's reports are a little dated, but they are so much easier to read!
You (according to Cisco's hoary reports) cannot have a battery-powered hotspot.
Why couldn't you just use a 120VAC inverter?? It's for stuff like toasters.
You'd be skirting the VLP Law but satisfying the spirit, if not the letter, of the Law.
(I feel like what it must be like to be a Talmudic Student)

conjecture (guessing) warning:
The stuff you bought a couple months ago does not comply.
Resistance is ...(o nvm)

spinning cinnamon (under construction)

 https://www.google.com/search?q=cinnamon+stick+high+levels+of+lead&oq=cinnamon+stick+high+levels+of+lead

If you read the link (please do so now) it'll say to throw away cinnamon from some stores because it has high levels of lead.
I'm bringing it up because my new-tab page claims cinnamon is super healthy.
Question: How does an average type of person test food for lead?
(or test themselves??)
If you lived in a big city and grew your own food, isn't this as bad as getting those throw-away products from the store?
(Just wondering)

So....if the lead doesn't kill you, you might get healthier (IDK)

Let's consider that:
They really did find lead in Cinnamon,
And the Cinnamon-association council is shitting bricks.
They'll prolly tout organic free-range Cinnamon from the Himalayas ....

The iconic picture (from The Army) makes me want to ask a question:
In the movie "The longest Day" and in the picture, people trudged towards the beach, walking. Some of them got shot.
Could they have ducked down *below* the water surface or would that have totally ruined their gun?
Picture it (maybe): the guy next to you is shot, so you dive down.
It makes me wonder.
